About PopHop

PopHop is transforming communities from audiences into self-sustaining economies where every member can monetize their expertise. We're building an all-in-one community platform that enables creators and members to sell products, services, and consultations both within their communities and to global audiences - like having Gumroad built into your community.

We're a passionate team of 6 based in Sri Lanka, working full-time to launch our first version in the next 2-4 weeks. With 400+ active beta testers, 16 pre-committed clients, and 900+ people on our waitlist, we're ready to scale fast.

The Role

We're looking for a Full-Stack Developer to join our engineering team and help us build the future of community monetization. You'll work alongside our 3 co-founders and 3 existing developers on exciting features that directly impact creator success.

What You'll Be Working On

• Community Features: Membership tiers, real-time engagement tools, community management
• Monetization Tools: Digital product sales, consultation booking, event hosting
• LMS Platform: Course delivery, content management, student progress tracking
• Marketplace Economy: Member-to-member transactions, global selling capabilities
• Payment Systems: Stripe integration, commission handling, subscription management
• AI Integration: Content recommendations, member matching, community insights

Our Tech Stack

• Frontend: Next.js, TypeScript, shadcn/ui
• Backend: Python (FastAPI/Django)
• Database: Supabase with Prisma ORM
• Payments: Stripe
• Storage: AWS S3
• Deployment: Vercel, Redis caching
• AI: OpenAI GPT-4, evaluating Claude

What We're Looking For

• Experience: 2+ years with modern web development (we're open to different experience levels)
• Frontend Skills: Strong proficiency in React/Next.js and TypeScript
• Backend Skills: Experience with Python (FastAPI/Django preferred) or similar frameworks
• Database: Experience with PostgreSQL and ORMs
• API Development: RESTful APIs, payment gateway integration
• Real-time Features: WebSockets, real-time data handling
• Startup Mindset: Comfortable with fast-paced environment and wearing multiple hats

Bonus Points

• Experience with Supabase or similar BaaS platforms
• Previous work on community platforms or creator tools
• Experience with AI/ML integration
• Knowledge of payment processing and marketplace dynamics
• Understanding of LMS or educational technology
